What Our Guests Are Saying…

Ya gotta love DeSoto!

My wife and I have stayed in numerous B&B's in several states. DeSoto is among the very best. Clean, comfortable and quiet. Safe, off street parking, close to everything on Tybee Island yet located at the peaceful end of it all. Breakfast offered a variety from bagels and cereal to sausage and eggs to order. The french toast was terrific and the second day was good old biscuits and gravy because a guest had requested it. (They aim to please). Food was prepared with love by Debra, a real Georgia home cooker and served in a large open community room. It is located upstairs with a nice, outside porch on either side suitable for outside eating should you prefer. The afternoon wine and cheese and late night cookies were also a big hit. The beautiful wide, long beach is perfect for walking, biking, swimming and all things ocean and it is all literally located at your back door. Just past the DeSoto pool, which you do have access too, is the fine warm sand of Tybee Island Beach. Sunrise is magnificent and stars are plentiful on a lovely Georgia night. If you're into relaxing and being well taken care of at a lovely seaside B&B - this one's for you. Hail Desoto! We loved it!

Fantastic Stay!

We arrived without a reservation and I asked for an upgrade if possible. The front desk clerk was very friendly and we stayed in the B&B next to the main hotel. Our room was amazing, top floor, deck with an ocean view, beautiful king bed and very soft bedding and a HUGE bathroom area with claw tub and separate shower. Debra cooked our breakfast each day and she was so sweet and nice. There was wine and cheese each day at 5pm. We had such a great time and would go back and stay in a second. Ask for the "Tybee" suite.

Wonderful Escape!

We only stayed on Tybee for one night before heading to Savannah, but I wish it could have been a week! The Desoto Bed & Breakfast was wonderful. After a day at the beach, we returned to wine and cheese at the B&B. The next morning, we woke up to the smell of coffee and the sound of sizzling bacon. The food was delicious! The staff was friendly and helpful and everything in the house was clean and well kept. Wonderful time and I can't wait to go back!

A great time

My wife and I were visiting for our anniversary. We had a great time. The place is really nice and the people are so helpful. The weather wasn't so good, but our stay was awesome. We can't wait to come back.

Perfect!!

My husband and I needed a getaway, and decided to do something new. We have stayed at the DeSoto Hotel next door, and when looking at their website, discovered their B&B next door. WE decided to give it a try, as we have never done a b&b before.

At this VERY moment, writing this review, I am sitting on our cozy king bed in the lovely Tybee Suite. I have the sliding glass door curtains and sliding PLANTATION SHUTTERS?!? (wow! totally cool! never seen those before!) open and am watching the waves crash on the beach!

This morning I woke up and smelled breakfast cooking, but strangely enough, I never HEARD a thing! It is SO quiet. I dozed back off, but the smell of bacon and sausage would not be denied, so I finally worked up the courage to venture downstairs. (keep in mind, I have never been to a b&b before, and I am VERY shy). I poked my head around the corner, and was greeted with a friendly smile by Donna. I apologized for having borrowed two glasses from the cupboard the night before, as I had not yet discovered the glasses in our room. She told me not to worry and then explained how the b& works. I then fixed a plate of the most delicious sausage and pancakes. There was a lovely bowl of fruit, yougurt, cold cereal, bagels, and she even offered to make french toast and eggs! She was just too sweet and made me feel so comfortable and welcome....

I really just could not recommend this place any more highly. Yes, there are a few little wear and tear spots, as you would find in ANY beachfront property, but the comfort and beauty and frendliness far outweigh any tiny cosmetic imperfections.

I highly recommend you give this one a try!

Wonderful stay

I was looking for some pampering and relaxation and found it here. The staff is marvelous! Debra was a joy! I stayed in the Tybee Suite at the top of the inn. The wine and cheese hour made for a nice transition between my beach time and a night on the town. I will be back for my next R&R. Thanks!
